We Have Food At Home!

To close out AAPI Heritage Month, One East at Martin would like introduce something we’ve been cooking up. A cookbook called “We Have Food at Home!”

We called our family members and asked for recipes of our favorite dishes. And this is what we got. You’ll see that most of the recipes have no measurements. At times the instructions are vague or slightly passive-aggressive or both. That is by design.

We wanted this cookbook to feel exactly like how we AAPI folks are taught how to cook. “We Have Food At Home!” is a love letter to our food and how our families show their love through food.

It is also a peek into how AAPI families pass down our food heritage. Sometimes the way they communicate is hilariously frustrating, but we know what they mean. Most of the time.

Translated as best we could,
And with all our love,

One East
