Discover Card Makes Future “Brighter”

Over the past year, Discover Card has been steadily staking out a challenger brand position with innovative products like the Motiva Card, which pays customers back for paying on time, and the Paydown Planner, an online calculator designed to help customers pay down their debt. To generate excitement around this new brand positioning, we launched the "Brighter" campaign in TV and print. Brighter is the promise of a better credit card experience and features a computer-generated, talking "Bright Idea" who shares all the unexpected ways Discover Card can help customers get ahead and realize a Brighter financial future. The campaign has already led to dramatic increases in brand awareness and consideration. But perhaps even more important, Brighter has become a driving force behind Discover Card's mission and a rallying cry for employees.
